Feeding the humbugs

The Great Crested Grebes have successfully hatched their four eggs and now have four delightful little humbugs.  They hatched while I was away on Skomer, but I wouldn't have wanted to miss that trip even so.

Here you can see one of the proud parents carefully getting the little one to eat a fish.  Despite the size of that fish it all went down in one go, with a few shakes and wriggles to get it down.

Its camera club tonight so I'm not going to be doing any commenting on blip tonight (again) I hope to start back to being a bit more involved shortly.
