Pre-spring blooms

The day before the winter solstice it might be assumed that the weather would be cold, flowers would be almost dormant and life would be a bit grey.........but noooooooooooo!  Beautiful sunshine until late afternoon (washing dried in next to no time this morning), no jacket worn when out and about and a garden with plenty of wanna-be-spring blooms, though by the time I turned my camera to them, the rains had begun.  Spent a lovely hour or so with the outgoing principal (and ex-student!) who leaves for the bigger challenges of a bigger school at the end of term (next week).......a chat just to say thanks for doing a great job, go well in the new job and take care.  The wheels of change have been turning quite quickly these past few years.
