Matthew Spender...

...bought his Tuscan farmhouse in 1968, one of the first British residents in this area. He is the son of the poet Steven Spender and is himself a fine sculptor. This piece appeared in Via Roma in Gaiole-in-Chianti late last year.

I wonder if you ever saw the 1996 film "Stealing Beauty" starring Liv Tyler? It was about an American girl coming to Italy to look for the boy she loved and to try to find out who was her father. It was filmed in Matthew's home and the sculptures "made" by one of the actors are Matthew's sculptures
