Peonies and alstroemeria

So glad I cut a few blooms off the peony before the rain came through the night and again in biblical proportions today. The house smells amazing, and what’s left of the blooms will hopefully dry off a bit with a little help - I’ve given them a wee shake already and I’ll do it again tomorrow. Always happens - rain comes as soon as they start to open….
Bit of a housework and washing kind of day today but I got bored and headed out to see if there were any more bargains to be had in the Dunelm sale but luckily nothing grabbed my attention so I headed to Tesco to have a look for a swimsuit as mine are all a bit past it and I actually found one which fits quite nicely - so win win :-) Had a coffee in the cafe and whilst I was there (with my trusty writing course book making notes - mostly about childhood summers) the rain started coming down in sheets! Thunder and lots of rain. Of course I had no coat on so had to stay out til it let up a bit and I could make a run for the car. And by the time I got home we had brilliant sunshine again. But it saved me having to water the garden so that was an extra half hour with my book after tea before I went to keep Bear company for a couple of hours :-)
