I wonder how he came to reside here at Gatesbield? Did a previous resident bring him with them to remind them of their previous home? Surely, there was a pair of them. Were they shared between two siblings when the family estate was broken up?
I’m pleased that he has found his way here. He adds a certain charmed dignity to the establishment!
