It is Friday!
Firstly many thanks for your comments on the mid-week sketch of Paula's grandaughter
To the jazz - We wait patiently for Ted's return but in the meantime it's a team effort to keep the show going. And last night we had a great turn out to hear Boogey Bills Billionaires.
The Billionaires is a fun and foot-tapping jump-jive band of Bill Roberts , Emma Willians and Paul Froggatt, recreating the sounds of the 40s and 50s swing and rat-pack era personified by the likes of Louis Jordan and Sinatra.
Bill's fingers dance along the key boards, while Paul provides mellow notes and awesome solos and out in front is Emma, the vivacious fun loving dancing vocalist with such a versatile voice.
And she is my biggest challenge. She is such a talented singer but her dancing makes for a big task to render her on paper. She inspires me to paint her and then I am caught in the addiction of this lengthy process of trying to catch her beauty, character and movement on paper. In some of the numbers I barely put a pencil mark on paper. I then try and focus on one of her feature to produce the pencil mark that will capture it!!
And the journey has been a long one....here.....here...!!!! Maybe I need to get a photo of her!! Dear Emma - please send me a photo??! At least she did say that I had got the hair right! Meanwhile sketching Bill takes minutes - he focusses on his fingers and does not jump over the keyboard or......
