Having a drink with Mum

Lucked out today! It was chilly but I decided to eat lunch out on the porch. Four does appeared out of the forest, and the last one was followed by the fawn! Managed to get a couple of shots before they disappeared back into the forest. G has the container that they're drinking from beside the bird bath, and the deer drink out of both. So do the birds, and use both as their bath as well. I liked that both the fawn and mum had their tongues showing.

It was very cool when I went out early for a walk, 10C. Not as cold as it was up where we used to live - 0 degrees this morning! I remember getting snow in June when we were there, and quite a few places in the province did get snow recently.
I watered, weeded, and thinned a few veggies before coming in to make French onion soup in the slow cooker for supper. G went golfing. He got messages and phone calls from the three girls for Father's Day. The card that Renata sent had "The Best Dad by Par" on the front. She does have a knack for finding great cards!
Really looking forward to having a visit with Krista at the EcoVillage tomorrow! It's her last week there, and it will be fun to meet the people she's been working with and have her give us a tour around the place. My cousin and fellow blipper DoogieVanIsle and Impy are meeting us there too. We're having lunch with the people who live and work there, including 2 other UBC teacher education students. They have a gratitude circle before eating, and I'm interested in taking part in that. Hope to get a blip of some of the things we see! Can't wait to see Krista.
