Frass

Scarlet lily beetle larvae have been busily munching their way through my lilies. Some are almost completely defoliated. Today I decided to fight back, spending almost two hours picking the larvae off. These are just from one plant. Its quite an unpleasant task because the larvae are buried in their own sticky black excrement (frass).
