Repotting plants and anniversary outing
Neil and I had our 44th wedding anniversary on the 16th. I can't believe we've put up with each other for so long!
We found a pub in walking distance that serves food outside, and we had a pleasant time in their outdoor area. The menu was limited (just one veggie option and I hope you like a spicy burger!) but the food was fine and the atmosphere very relaxed with well-behaved children and dogs at some of the tables. The staff were amazingly friendly and obliging. We were rather overdressed for a pub in the early evening, or I was anyway, but I don't often get the chance to add a bit of bling.
Earlier in the day I repotted the orchid which was now finally losing its last flowers. I can't believe how long the flowering season lasts. I separated out the new young plant from its mother and trimmed off any dead roots. I hope they both survive the process.
I also repotted some parsley that Carly had ordered from Sainsbury's. Those potted herbs always need a new pot fairly soon.
The painters don't work weekends, so we had peace and quiet around the house. All in all, a good day.
