View from the Train
Durham Cathedral. Eric Treacy in his book "Roaming the Northern Rails" described this " ...as one of the most superb views in the British Isles". It is one of the highlights on the wonderful rail journey from Edinburgh to Leeds.
Born in London, Treacy took up railway photography, being inspired by a visit to Liverpool Lime Street. His photographic work appeared in various magazines during the 1930s.
