Saturday: #30DaysWild - Baby Blackbird
At 4 o’clock this morning the heavy rain woke me up and what a joy to see it, I slept on until 7:30am - the rain had stopped but the garden was well and truly soaked and all the plant pots on trays were nicely watered with water underneath them too! :-))
MrD went off on his motorbike to visit his friends at the power station and to pass on his condolences for the loss of their colleague and friend who sadly passed away a week ago, he was a fellow biker.
I had an hour or so of looking at a branch of my family tree related to the part of Anglesey I visited 10 days ago, but had to stop as it’s just sooooo confusing :-((
Today’s Blip is mainly of a new baby blackbird which has no tail, still has the yellow gape around its beak, lots of fluffy feathers … and is very squawky … new from the nest and waiting for Dad to feed it. 5 hours later it’s running after its Dad nagging to be fed … lucky the Redcurrant bush is having a bumper harvest :-)) I’ve also tipped a small tub of wet compost onto another deep bed and it’s full of earthworms to help the poor parent birds!
The Cavollo Nero (top right) is the one I cut a few days ago -

And it does exactly what my Dad’s cabbages used to do, there’s a small new branch growing where each leaf joins the main stem :-)
There’s a programme about George Michael and Wham tonight on BBC2, I’ll watch it tonight or on iPlayer tomorrow … MrD doesn’t like George … :-(((((
Wishing everyone a relaxing and enjoyable weekend XXXX XXX XX
ADDED LATER: MrD and I watched a film “Tracks”

and we’ve had some more rain :-))
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
