Wave
on the eastern end of Horseshoe Bay.
Got dumped by one of these seemingly insignificant waves as a child. They are small but powerful. It caught me and turned me 360 degrees twice before I scraped up on the sand and could grab some air. I have had great respect for waves since then and have learnt how to go through or over them.
This is the only decent sandy shored beach for relaxed swimming for well over 100 kms in either direction. There is a group of swimmers that daily swim from the Surf Life Saving Club to the point of rocks visible in the background. Good on them but I'm not joining them.
A warm day until the rain set in around midday.
