Beauties and the beasts..

This has to be my favourite today! I was thinking to crop it for the gargoyles only, but how could I!

After a short trip on the Canal de Midi and a meander back, we finally did the tour of the inside of the castle, the parapets, the towers the chapel and huge spaces. Lots to read and take in. Just as we thought we’d finished, we faced another flight of steps and more magnificent views. We loved it. Some things it seems you can never have too much of.

A day of wonder and learning as has been our whole time here.

A meal organised this evening by our retiring courier at a lovely lively yet not at all noisy restaurant. Twenty-five of us, most of whom had spent the holiday independently still enjoyed a happy time together.

Iris is home. Wonderful news. It wasn’t pneumonia after all.
