Life after Burradoo, NSW

Something I've never done

I've never learned to surf. I can surf - but very, very little and only body surfing at that. I grew up in the western suburbs of Sydney in the 1950s and 60s. We weren't beach kids. Relief from the heat came from running under a sprinkler on the front lawn. Regrettably, although probably thankfully, I have no photos of that exciting enterprise. We only went to the beach when we were older teenagers. I was so heavily dumped one day that I had to have my ears syringed to remove the sand. Now that was painful. Perhaps I should have enrolled in 'Learn to Surf' lessons.
