Tattie blossom

Nick, Bertie and I went over to the community orchard to water the fruit bushes (mainly blueberries) that are growing in tubs in the fruit cage, as well as the grafted trees that are growing on in pots. There is a small raised bed area where potatoes and leeks are growing well so we gave them a wetting also. We get our water from a nearby stream so we weren’t using up the precious public water supply. I thought the flowers on the potatoes were beautiful (main) and the dog roses at the car park were in full bloom (extra).
During the week, one of our neighbours had given us a gift of a jar of her homemade strawberry jam made from her own organically grown strawberries, I just had to make some scones today to go with the very special jam for our Friday treat, and what a treat it was!
