Twinflower

We were out early this morning before it got too hot to carry out our annual pilgrimage to admire the Twinflowers in the pine forest. 

Gratifying to find 3 dense mats of the tiny, delicate beauties. Definitely an increase on last year.Their tiny pink tinged frlowers remind me of floral hats which might have been worn by Cicely Mary Barker's Flower Fairies.
