UofG

By two boys shunned all my attempts to go round the universities open days so final child, Wahay, she wants my company.
University of Glasgow she’s set her heart on
Drive through in yet another glorious sunny morning. Parked behind the Botanics and walked through the idyllic gardens, up through the West end to the gleaming spires of Glasgow. For all I grew up here and was taken often to the Hunterian museum I had no recollection of how beautiful and how much incredible architecture there is. I spent most of my time looking up in awe.
First lecture was Law which R is well equipped for.. but is it her passion?
Next lecture was Scottish and English literature and boy did she come alive, sitting up keen as could be, so much so she wants to do both.
Philosophy and History followed, again loved so it’s which three to choose and probably popping Law on the back burner for maybe a post grad?
Felt excited for her as we bumped into many of her friends buoyed up on the excitement of what lies ahead
Primarily freedom!
Zoomed back to home and headed down to Melrose for The Borders Book Festival to hear the incredibly entertaining and highly intelligent Sebastian Barry. His talk grasshoppered all over the place, politics, history, religion the wonder of life. He had the whole hot and sweaty audience captivated with his charisma and just didn’t want him to stop. Barry for PM, world PM says I the man talks a lot of sense!
