Wild Garlic

Breathe it in (can you smell it?)

Two things have brought me out of my subdued mood. The first was some exercise, cycling to and from work reminding me how important that dose of endorphins is to my well-being. After so many years of addiction why is it that I still need reminding? The second was some company tonight, the delightful and stimulating company of fellow blippers. A bit of serious discussion, a bit of banter, a few pints of beer and the world seems like an altogether lovelier place.

The "less is more" idea was received well. Thank you. The best thing I can do is point you at Dr.Mackem's blip for the night. I'm kicking myself that I wasn't quicker off the draw myself! Instead you get the only shot I had in the camera today, of this astonishing glade of wild garlic which I spotted from the bike this morning. The fragrance seemed to hang heavy in the air, almost as if you could gather it up with your hands and take it with you. I'm not sure if I've ever seen such a dense proliferation before. I wonder if the wet and cold spring weather has throttled back all this latent energy, which is now being unleashed in a burst of remarkable fecundity.
