Relaxing!
The others went to the local town to explore but we decided it was too hot and we don’t care for looking at shops, so we relaxed in the pretty garden. They’ve made a wonderful wild flower patch. I read my book and before we knew it, it was time to meet the others. Carole decided Carsington water would be a good idea but in fact it was a very busy place with concrete walkways and lots of duck poo. Aled and Steve don’t do walking so they sat at the cafe while Carole, David, Mr C and I had a quick 2 mile walk. It was hot.
When we got back the others had a snooze, I read the paper and had a shower.
We had a drink in the garden before walking 10 minutes along to Carsington to the Miners Arms for a meal. It was strange food. Carole had a huge pizza base covered with chips and a few falafels and a bit of salad. Mr C had a very small and dry fish pie. My oak-smoked salmon salad was a mush up of the fish, lettuce, beetroot and onion slathered in a vinegary mayo.
After we got back we sat in the garden and played Dead Celebs, a new game Steve bought today. Mr C and I are not good at celebs. Talking of celebs, Glenda Jackson’s death was announced today. I have a picture I took of her and Carole at a LP conference. She was a strong character.
