Marvelous Melrose

Today was an all day in-person directorate meeting at work. It was okay and really good to see and catch up with folk that I haven't seen in a while. Afterwards I headed down to Melrose with a friend for a talk at the Borders Book Festival. We were quite early so wandered into the grounds of Melrose Abbey. The abbey itself isn't open to the public but is still magnificent when viewed from the outside. The talk was by the archaeologist Barry Cunliffe about his new book. Great talk and a very fun and interesting afternoon/ evening overall.
