On The Rocks . . .

This butterfly was staggering around the car park (do butterflies stagger? Well, yes, this one did) at the supermarket where we were buying dinner (no, don't ask, but it was healthy).

Jools, a former boy scout/girl guide/whatever came to the rescue, picking it up and depositing it in a flower bed, away from the wheels of uncaring commuters.

However, the stupid thing kept fluttering back onto the roadway, until Jools decided, "to hell with this stupid creature," and stamped on it (no, she didn't, but she placed it back in the flower bed, turned her back, got in the Rustbucket and drove away, leaving me in the car park with the butterfly, both of us sobbing, wretched, wondering what we'd done to deserve such harsh treatment . . .
