Knightshayes Court

A stop off on the way home - bright sunshine again so not the best for photography.  Knightshayes is an interesting house in that the owners fell out with their original designer,  had someone else complete the house then within ~15 years many of the ceilings had been covered up.

When the trust took the property on they took down the covering and exposed the original finish, which I'm guessing had not had to tolerate coal fire smoke etc for anywhere near the time it might have.

Definitely a marmite style of decoration, but we quite liked it.
