Tree + Cake + Music

The latest Tree + Cake event was hosted by Sam who works on the Carsaig estate with his lovely partner A and two delightful children.  His tree was a silver birch, well two of them, growing next to a small waterfall.  A lot of his work involves deer management so these trees are special as they are in a small minority that have survived deer snacking.  He is also a musician with a beautiful voice which he shared with us, as well as providing possibly the best bakewell tart I've ever eaten.  Lots of interesting chat too.  It was an excellent way to spend a Sunday - in spite of the best efforts of the midges, ticks and clegs.
