Waiting

Another lovely full sunny day, but thankfully cooler at a very pleasant 20C. I was feeling a tad better today, so met H in Sheringham for a bimble along the seafront and a cuppa overlooking the sea. This dog was tied up to the bench nearby, we were a bit concerned as it was clearly in distress so I asked the guy in the café about it, but he said it belonged to the small group down on the beach as dogs aren't allowed on that stretch at this time of year. Poor thing. This afternoon I sat out at times under my patio umbrella, trying to read a book whilst attempting to ignore the builders' music and 'singing'.

A positive story for a change. When I saw the podiatrist he recommended I wore insoles that come in different arch heights, plus that I bought wider shoes. He said his customers got on well with a company called Wider Fit Shoes, based in Rushden but who sell over the internet and by phone. I wanted walking boots and shoes, so started with boots. The company provides good info on measuring your feet, plus I spoke to one of their advisors (phone answered immediately) who said I should measure the width including the orthotics. She said leather was the most flexible material, and (whilst expensive) that there was 20% off, they are flexible to adjust through removing one or two of the insoles, have a wide and deep toe box and a flexible leather tongue. I ordered on 8th, they arrived on 10th and fit well, but she advised me to also wear them around the house in case they need to be returned.  Then on 13th I got an email about their summer sale, yep they were reduced even further. I rang up and before I could say much, she stopped me to say their policy is that they would refund the difference if the sale is within 7 days of purchase. I'm impressed.
