teenytiny holes & a gift of love

About 4 years ago I holdybreathdived about 15ft to retrieve this off the seabedshingle in corfu. At the time I was looking at baby octopus when I spotted the shell gently bobbing in the current. It now sits on a glass shelf in our bathroom and is one of the first 'free' gifts I gave lady sp33d.

Which got me thinking - what exactly is it that makes most grownups forget that it's the thought that counts?
