Back to the Future

I have never had a fondness for lawns. Grass is just a weed with good PR.
The community where I live was built on a large river delta and was once all farms. The original farms were divided into family sized farms and sold to soldiers returning from war, for a nominal fee.
Eventuality the farms became subdivisions and much of the very fertile soil was wasted growing lawns.
This lawn, three doors over from mine, was converted, in part, to growing food once again. It was the first. Now there are a few more. Hopefully, many more to follow. (Mine is at our summer residence).
