My ex-Best Hat

This hat was bought especially for a friends wedding in Zante, when combined with my beige chinos and white shirt it was, without doubt, a very sophisticated look.
The rest of the outfit has gone but the hat remained, brought out when going to outside "events" during the summer, making at least the very top part of me look very smart and suave looking.

But then I took it to Tenerife. A combination of bad packing, grandson and a couple of total immersions in the swimming pool has done it irreparable damage. So now it has been relegated to "Gardening Hat". It will still be used for outside events but the quality of these will be far lower than previously. The events today were, painting a window frame, weeding the strawberry bed, checking on eggs (none) watering the garden and covering my eyes as I rested in the shade for a minute or twenty. A bit of a come down for it in the hat world.

And I need a replacement if I am to continue being suave and sophisticated.
