Damn Romans

Ground elder; it's rampant and invasive and well-nigh impossible to get rid of without a lot of digging. But it looks pretty with the sun on it. Supposedly introduced by the Romans because it's edible and it will grow anywhere - it was a way of providing cheap food across the country. It is also supposed to have medicinal value including being used to treat gout.
