Ichthyological Opera. Leitz Elmarit 90mm
My Editor and I took a brief two-night break down in Newport, RI. Nothing says Newport better than the crowded boats in the harbor. This one stuck out: a word play of two fish species, and a tip o' t'hat to George Gershwin's opera, Porgy and Bess, premiered, by coincidence, right here in Boston on September 30, 1935. Thank you to Wiki for this detail. One of the arias is, Summertime, and the Living is Easy... Makes perfect sense.
I was conflicted about which of the images to use as the Main and Extra. Pogy conveys the sense of place better, so she gets the Main.
For the Extra then, a still-life of 400 horse-power of outboard sculpture attached to the Harbor Master's skiff.
