Sad days

We have a lovely size walnut tree in our garden and every year I await with wonder to see how many walnuts we get.
We’ve only ever had 1 as the wildlife help themselves to the walnut babies when they’re still tiny. The grey squirrels being the worst culprits.
Yesterday I noticed there were loads of little baby walnuts however I found this little one on the grass.
1 less for the squirrel to find I suppose .
