zebra crossing "lolly pop"

lovely day in edinburgh and the zebra crossing introduced initially on a pilot basis in the UK back in 1949, and here it is, still here today.

thought it stood out from the green dome and monument and also the 41 foot tall roman column, in the background to the left. The column is the Melville monument in St Andrews Square, built in memory of Henry Dundas (Scottish advocate and politician).
