We Went Out Out
Poor Arlo has been on gardening leave for the past 2 weeks after being diagnosed with a condition in his knees, so has been having lots of rest, short walks in the garden, and not much fun. Lots of sniffing games/tasks has kept him going and using up most of his energy.... and in an attempt to be his partner in crime, I too have staying at home, with only one escape last Friday. His 2 weeks were up today, a phone call with the vets suggested we can now go out for very short walks and the week after, a bit more, then see where we are, but this is hopefully going be a gradual return to normal over a few months.
Anyway, it's been hot all day and we saved his first "walk" for the evening, he was raring to go and mega sniffing smells he's missed, the sunken garden was looking gorgeous, but we just had a loop back through the wilderness and home, and he was happy for bed after his tea. It's been a relief for him to have a change of scene and he'll cope better with it now, and so will I.
In other news, the sparrow chicks back and front seem to have started to fledge, maybe one each, they are the sparrows just sitting about chirping while the parents are still busy feeding the others. Which means the clock is now ticking for the kittens who are being kept in while this clutch are moving out and getting street wise.
