Chinese Toilet

This.. is a Chinese (public) toilet. This one is in a bar so it's clean.. A lot of them aren't. As you can see, it is very different from a usual public loo. It is basically a hole in the ground (with the appropriate plumbing). To save a LOT of waste in the sewerage system, the paper is thrown into the basket on the left and then throw out. We call them squatters because you ahve to squat to use them. Get your ass as close as you can to avoid splashing. Ew.. Did I type that? or just think it?

If you think about it, although it is strange system, It is prolly more hygenic than where you sit on a seat that has been used by the previous person.. This way, only the bottom of your shoes catches and creepy things.

The 'don't' sign on the back says No bottles, cups, paper or umm something else.. maybe cameras or cell phones.
