Ar lan y môr

Ar lan y môr ~ By the sea

“All self-centered thoughts limit our vast mind. When we have no thought of achievement, no thought of self, we are true beginners. Then we can really learn something. The beginner’s mind is the mind of compassion. When our mind is compassionate, it is boundless.”
― Shunryu Suzuki

Mae'n cymryd tua phedwar deg pum munud i ni seiclo o Eglwys Newydd y Benarth, a mwynheuon ni'r daith trwy'r parc ac ar draws y morglawdd. Roedd e'n yr ail dro oeddwn i ni wedi ymweld Penarth ar ein beiciau. Mae'n gyflymach na bws neu drên ac yn rhatach na thacsi - ond dim ond mewn tywydd da.

Aethon ni i lawr cwrdd ag ein hathrawon Bwdist a ffrind oedd wedi do o Colorado i ymweld â nhw. Doedden ni ddim wedi gweld hi am lawer o flynyddoedd ac roedd e'n dda iawn i weld hi eto. Cerddon ni i lawr trwy'r parc i'r môr i gael pysgod a sglodion y tu allan bwyty swnllyd. Roedd yr haul yn disgleirio ac roedd e'n teimlo fel gwyliau haf. Roedd prynhawn a noswaith ymlacied a hapus.

It takes us about forty five minutes to cycle from New Church y Benarth, and we enjoyed the journey through the park and across the barrage. It was the second time we had visited Penarth on our bikes. It's faster than a bus or train and cheaper than a taxi - but only in good weather.

We went down to meet our Buddhist teachers and a friend who had come from Colorado to visit them. We hadn't seen her for many years and it was very good to see her again. We walked down through the park to the sea to have fish and chips outside a noisy restaurant. The sun was shining and it felt like summer holidays. It was a relaxing and happy afternoon and evening.
