Arlington Court

We've had a day at Arlington Court - a much modified grand house gifted to the National Trust in 1949.  The last member of the Chichester family (Rosalie) died without ever having married and so without any heirs.  She was presented at court for the social season but decided it was not for her and devoted herself to the arts, music, astronomy, photography and the upkeep of the estate.

My blip is the main house, with a later extension nearest the camera.
After lunch, Gill hired one of their Trampers (see extra) and we went around one of the estate walks.  Plenty to see and/or blip.  The idea of hiring the tramper was to keep Gill's heart rate down to a reasonable level, this worked very well, even if mine was in the 130s keeping up with her :-)

The tea room organiser is from Dudley - not an accent I expected to hear in a place like this!  Her brother and his family  live in Rowley Regis where I grew up, she has persuaded them to move to North Devon - and I can see why :-)
