Day 162/23. A welcome, but unexpected, visitor

A welcome, but unexpected, visitor to our garden this afternoon. This Emperoro Dragonfly was happily sunning itself in the middle of our flower bed. They are around 8cm long, one of our largest insects.
We've never seen one in our garden before. Spectacular things.
Found across Wales, most of England; the Emperor Dragonfly's distribution has greatly increased since the 1990s. Before that it was rarely seen in the UK.
