A Saturday adventure
Sue and I took Eliana, Evan, and Bella to Tacoma, Washington by train (two and a half hours), there to see the Museum of Glass. It was the first time any of the three grandkids had been on a train, and Bella discovered that it is the only form of transportation she's ever tried that doesn't give her motion sickness.
We walked across the Bridge of Glass, spent some time in the Hot Room watching three glassmakers create a vase; and then were delighted by the activities for kids and dazzled by all the amazing glass pieces. A final stop by the Museum Shop to buy some marbles to take home for souvenirs, and then pizza and the train back to Portland. All in one day.
Extras: on the Bridge of Glass; and Bella (now taller than Sue) and Sue re-tying their shoelaces by the iconic chimney.
