Sally Mair - Loving life

Christmas /Easter/Thanksgiving/Midsummer Cactus

Clearly the latter so a new variety! I honestly believe these flower when you remember to water them! It's full of flowers and they have a beautiful scent which I don't remember noticing before.
Sad news today of the death of a friend of Ovarian cancer. Discovered too late to do anything about. She has spent the last 5 months preparing and making sure everything was left as it should be. At least she's at peace now, we are the ones with the space in our lives that she has left.
A nice day today weather-wise (hooray). This morning we went to visit Katy and the girls, Eilidh was reading and Isobel spent most of the time doing cartwheels and standing on her head! They headed off to Broughton Primary school as Eilidh's group were performing a dance at their summer fair. From there they went up to Hillend for their final skiing lesson and end of course assessment. They both passed and are very pleased with themselves.
This afternoon we popped into the craft fair being held in our church and then came back and enjoyed the sunshine in the garden. The cool wind kept the temperatures down, but that meant I got lots done. The main task was pruning the camellia which was long overdue. I then spent a while crawling around under it gathering several years worth of fallen leaves. It looks much better now.
