Festival Music

Sound checking before our tea time slot at the Cumbria Volkswagen Audi Group “Show & Shine Festival”, held on the county showground. Usually they just have DJs on the Saturday night, but we’d been asked by one of the organisers if we’d do an hour early evening to attract some of the older festival attendees over to the music/bars/food area.
Went down well - we were even asked to do ten minutes extra - and it was quite nice having a professional team setting up monitors and adjusting levels for us! Unfortunately, the 28 degree heat meant only a few hardy souls ventured into the tent, but we were told there was quite a crowd listening outside. We were also told that bar takings were up on this time last year, so it seems it was a success all round. Might even lead to more local festival appearances in due course.
Home now for a change of clothing and a bite to eat before heading off to the second gig of the day in Barrow. I’m really hoping it’s going to be a bit cooler by the time we start…
