Sarlat, Dordogne France

We have arrived in the beautiful town of Sarlat for a six night stay in the town centre. We plan to explore the amazing surrounding towns and castles. We were relieved to find that the level of tourism had not increased too much since our last visit two decades ago. The characteristic houses with their "Lauze" stone roofs (400-900kg per m2) still predominate. The roof lasts about 150 years. The Extra is a shot across the roof line from the top of the 12th Century Indoor Market building in the centre of town.
