West Acre Summer Fate

It got too hot yesterday to do anymore painting so I got up early (relatively compared to the last couple of weeks) and finished the second window frame. Only the large living room one to go now.

It got far too hot to do anything so we sat on the decking under the large umbrella and eat lunch. The slight breeze was very welcome. There is something about al fresco dining that makes the simplest of foods taste better.
In the afternoon we went to a village fate. It is held in the gardens of Abbey House, a beautiful building with gardens leading down to this stream. There are several small bridges crossing the stream  and an array of seats dotted all along both banks. The garden is big and a perfect shape for a fate, stalls either side of the lawn and catering in the middle. Very impressive cake stall, they also had a coconut shy and other old fashioned games. All the money they raised will go to the charity that I volunteer for so it was a very good cause.
Tonight we have been invited out to dinner.
Its all go here and I'm meant to be "taking it easy"
