Valley Of The Low Sun

This is not my neighbourhood.  I know that because there are cafes with people sitting outside in the winter sunshine.  We are in Ponsonby, Auckland staying with the lovely daughter.  This afternoon we walked down to the nearest bit of the Auckland Harbour.  It was a pleasant walk looking at the old wooden villas that are still in this part of Auckland.  We passed many cafes like this with people enjoying beer, wine or food.  Why are we here?  Tomorrow evening we get on the big plane to begin our trip to Alaska.  A month in an RV.  We have never had a holiday in one before so it will be rather exciting even before we get to the scenic wonders of Alaska.
