Docklands Light Railway DLR

It was suggested we ride on the DLR, this we did today and hopped off at Greenwich. The ride was different to the older style system. Much of it was overhead on stilts the track threading its way around the tall glass buildings and docklands, rising and falling at the same time negotiating fairly tight bends and S shaped curves. J noticed that within the carriage on the floor was a pivot point to allow the train to move with the tight corners.

We decided on Greenwich as the destination point and wandered around the outside of the Cutty Sark, perhaps too tight to pay the fee but probably more to do with aching back and knees. The little van shows a reflection of some of the ship, two for one? We wandered around the area surprised to see the gherkin building still in sight. In need of a drink the 'Cafe Rouge' appeared and hot chocolate and a selection of little dishes of foods including a very tasty cheese fondu with good bread did the trick.
