Dunkery Beacon

Not the most inspiring hill and not my most inspiring blip!

But it is the only photography I did today.  We drove from Minehead back through Dunster (an interesting experience) and on to Barnstaple via a stop at Dunkery Beacon. Warm, breezy and hazy on the top so not much to be seen, but it was good to be out walking in the fresh air.  Gill managed the walk too, although with a few stops to keep her heart rate down.

A group of teens were walking up as we were going down,  on their DoE Silver expedition. With the sun warming everything up they had most of their kit in rucksacks, I didn't envy them the weight :-)
Before we were married we were into backpacking and wild camping - so we know the joys of carrying all of the just in case stuff on hot days.

Now set up just outside Barnstaple to meet up with one of Gill's ex-colleagues.

Thanks to everyone who has called in on my journal recently - we're here for a few days so hopefully a chance for me to catch up on yours.
