Flower Friday 09_2023 :: FF09_2023 :: Wildflowers

Today we visited Richmond Castle (EH) for the first time. We even managed a most agreeable lunch in one of the market square cafes.

The castle commands a high position and is well managed. There were a few options of Blipping flowers growing out of the battlements or in the garden but these ones have stumped me.

I thought at the time they were Herb Robert but the leaves are ivy shaped even if the growing habit looks similar. My daughter suggested wild violets but again the leaves don't seem to match. I stand to be corrected.
