A ray of light

A difficult day at the end of a challenging few weeks. One of those situations where you know you’ve done the right thing, and that you have given everything you can to try and prevent it happening, but it happens anyway.

J was admitted to the local older adults mental health hospital this afternoon for further assessment. Against his wishes as he’s still convinced there’s nothing wrong which is why he’s refusing his medication. I’m hopeful that he is now under the care of a team that will be able to unpack the complexities of his mental and cognitive conditions, and look at how they impact on his physical health.

I spotted how this sunbeam was refracting through a glass of water on the kitchen table and found my blip for the day.

After spending the last few nights with half an ear on what J was doing, I’m going to get an early night!
