Stag beetle.

We often see stag beetles at school around this time of year and usually around the same area.  I’m guessing the ones I’ve seen previously must be female as this one was a lot bigger.  Probably as long as my index finger.  I was asked to move it before the children went to play.  I also reported our sighting on the endangered species site.
