Sitting at the Gate
When I first came to Israel, I had nothing but two suitcases and an apartment for two months which had been provided for me. I remember the day when I was down to five dollars in my pocket, a small grapefruit in the fridge, three days left on the rent and I was hard on my face before the Lord who had instructed me to Go to Israel, Tell you what to do when you get there. I had no ticket back to America and had no desire to do anything except wait on God. That was when I heard His audible voice, I didnt send you here to look for financial security, I didnt send you here to help the poor and needy, I sent you here to seek first my Kingdom. Therein is that first key to life.
Well, I thought to myself, if I have to sleep in the park, I have to sleep in the park but as I read that verse in Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. In my heart I said, Youre on. I am not going to worry about tomorrow; I am going to know You and Your righteousness. The next morning, I had a letter with one hundred dollars in it, I had a phone call from someone who needed a six week house sitter for a five bedroom house and they had a refrigerator full of food that they said I might just as well eat as it would spoil before they got back.
My advice, .. seek first His Kingdom, He will take care of the rest.
