Top dressing and more.

A neighbour told me a neighbour is having some landscaping work done and his red chips were being replaced as part of his bigger project. This area in our garden was previously chipped but scruffy after half a dozen conifers were dug out. The landscaper gave me a roll of membrane, my wife and I prepared the area and I barrowed chips until we dressed this area, and a top dressed few other spots. I’ll get some more before the job is finished. We discussed recycling - the landscaper was really switched on. He’s keen to recycle lot of material and used recycled goods; he was using plastic slab spacers made from recycled milk bottles. The neighbour knew the manufacturing process, it initiated at the refinery complex near here. Both were disappointed about the Scottish Government cancelling the Deposit Return Scheme for single use containers until UK Government gets its act together in (ahem) 2025. They had both used the reverse vending machines abroad and knew of the new ones installed locally and ready to go.

Our older son was cleaning out his garage (house refurbishment); we took their dog for a walk late this afternoon. She loved running back and forward at the hospital woods and farm. The new extension to the hospital car park was open, first time we’ve used it. They’re also building a new ward; the extension is part of Forth Valley NHS Board’s Elective Care Development Programme.
