Rostrum Finals

Our school has such a great vibe, it's a joy to be part of the community.

Our son was competing in the public speaking finals, and while it was a pleasure to see the quiet attentive listening and cameraderie while the speeches were going on, what was really moving was the way the teachers converted the noisy restless wait for the adjudication into an exuberant communal singalong, culminating in a riotous rendition of Shortening Cake

So, although its been a very long day, and I only arrive home late to an evening of paperwork, I can summon up the energy to conjure a batch of fruit scones for the class party tomorrow. Their student teacher has finished her rotation and they want to say goodbye.
